As part of efforts to strengthen the relationship between the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) and Client Representatives while enhancing the ease of doing business in Lagos, the Agency held its first client representatives/public forum at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa Ikeja, recently.
In her welcome address, the General Manager of MVAA, Mrs. Lape Kilanko, highlighted some important issues affecting the registration of motor vehicles in Lagos, particularly the existing relationship between the client representatives, MVAAstaff and other related agencies.
She emphasised the need for a cordial relationship among the key players in the industry to ensure the ease of vehicle documentation and making it more accessible to Lagosians.
While lamenting the dubious behaviours of some agents who register their clients’ vehicles with stolen documents, Kilanko declared that such activity is inappropriate and punishable by law, urging them to protect the image of the Agency as well as act as responsible middlemen between MVAA and its clients.
The General Manager also spoke on the official registration and introduction of new identity cards for genuine client representatives in the sector, adding that the identity card is to be renewed every five years.
She also implored the client representatives, staff and the general public to stay tuned to “Your Side Mirror” Programme on Traffic Radio 96.1FM from Friday 4th June to Friday 23rd July by 9am for information on the sector, noting that listeners will also have the opportunity to contribute to the programme.
