MVAA PARTNERS POLICE COMMAND ON ENFORCEMENT OF TEMPORARY VEHICLE TAGS

The Lagos State Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), has partnered with the Lagos State Police Command on the enforcement of the Temporary Vehicle Tag (TVT) in the State.

The General Manager, MVAA, Mrs. Lape Kilanko, who disclosed this on Friday after a meeting with the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Akeem Odumosu, at Ikeja, expressed her gratitude to the Command for supporting the Agency with the required enforcement of the TVT which is very crucial to its success.

“The TVT as the name connotes is a temporary tag which will be issued to new vehicles coming right from the point of entry into the State. It will serve as an identification tag for vehicles before full registration where vehicle licenses, as required by the law, would be obtained. It would also help the Agency to determine the number of vehicles coming into the State at any point in time”, Kilanko said.

She explained further that the TVT has come to stay for the safety and security of Lagosians and that MVAA has done its own part by making the TVT available while the Police Command has expressed its readiness to ensure the successful implementation of the policy.

In his remarks, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Akeem Odumosu, represented by Mr. Bassey Ewah, Assistant Commissioner of Police at the meeting, reiterated the commitment of the command to assist the State government in achieving security in the area of transportation and vehicle documentation.

He emphasised that the initiative will help in the protection of lives and property of the inhabitants of the State, promising the deployment of officers to the ports to ensure full compliance.
